Not usually. Washing your face more often doesn’t generally improve acne and can actually make it worse by irritating and drying your skin.

A good routine is:

  • 🫧 Wash twice a day (morning and night), plus after heavy sweating.
  • Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser and lukewarm water.
  • Avoid scrubbing, harsh soaps, and repeatedly washing throughout the day.
  • Don’t pick or squeeze pimples.
  • If you need more acne control, ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid are usually more useful than washing more often.

If your skin feels tight, burning, or unusually dry after washing, that’s a sign you’re probably overdoing it.
