The Effects of Benzoyl Peroxide on Acne-Causing Bacteria

Benzoyl peroxide is widely used in acne treatment because of its ability to act directly on the bacterial component of acne while also influencing the environment داخل the pore. This combination approach reflects the multifactorial nature of acne, where targeting bacteria alone may not fully resolve breakouts without also addressing sebum production and follicular keratinization.

Although benzoyl peroxide can be effective in reducing acne-causing bacteria, results typically develop over several weeks of consistent use. It does not eliminate all contributing factors of acne, and recurrence can occur if underlying processes such as excess sebum production persist.
